I started the process by weeding out most of the wrestlers on my Twitter feed. I did keep a few on that I just enjoy reading about what they are up to, but not necessarily for wrestling reasons. I do enjoy reading Stone Cold Steve Austin's stories about his shark attacks and monster workouts. And I'm a Fozzy fan, so I had to keep Jericho.
Next, I unjoined (is that a word?) a Facebook group for wrestling fans. I read discussions on it just about daily for a long time, and even posted my own thoughts at times.
Finally, the day came that I stopped watching Raw all together. I tried to get into TNA, but it didn't hold my interest either. So, I went cold turkey on watching wrestling.
As the title suggests, I am still weening myself from wrestling. I still keep up with what happens a little bit. (Holy Crap, Brett is the new US Champ?!) I still read the rumors and results from one of my Twitter feed peeps. But I'm trying. I had a nearly 20 year addiction. That's tough to break.
