So five years ago yesterday, we were at Pennyrile State Park, getting married. Then, we went to her sister's high school play. That's Miranda. Wouldn't have missed it for the world, but boy were we beat that night. Because it had been a long day!. Get your minds out of the gutters. We're married.
To celebrate our five year anniversary, we went to Montana Grille for a nice dinner, which we were finished with in about half an hour. Then, like all married couples on their anniversary, we went shopping for furniture. Remember, Autumn wants new furniture, so we gave the couch and matching chair that my parents gave me, back to my sister.
What, that's not what married couples do on their anniversary? Oh well, we've never been totally normal. We did go to Marble Slab for ice cream, though they were closed. So we went to Hardee's instead. Good stuff. We brought it home, sat on the front porch and ate it. Wonderful.
Then we went to bed and were asleep in no time. The cat woke me up at 5 a.m. yesterday and I couldn't go back to sleep, even though I was off yesterday.
Oh, one other thing. Autumn got me a sweet little card, some chocolate golf balls, and a set of four Stephen King DVDs. What did I get her? Nada. (That's Spanish for nothing for the Spanish-impaired in my audience). Was she mad? Upset? The least bit peaved? Nope. Last year, I got her a three-stone diamond necklace. I'm still riding the wave. I think I'm probably about to shore though. I gotta think of something really good for next year. I'm open to suggestions.
